I began my career in bookkeeping and accounting February of 2014 at Wicks, Brown, Williams and Company in Sebring, Florida where I worked part time answering phones, scanning documents, and anything else that the staff needed. After several months, I began to take on more responsibilities with bookkeeping tasks and basic tax work which led into working full time in January of 2017. From that time until April of 2019, I was able to prepare hundreds of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns for wonderful clients under the guidance of the partners and staff at Wicks. When tax season was not in full throttle, I worked with dozens of clients ranging from full service bookkeeping and payroll services to getting clients set up with QuickBooks.
In May of 2019, I moved to Montana to try something completely different and try out the cold. When arriving in Montana, I worked part time at Gregory’s Tax Service in Missoula. The team at Gregory’s is incredible and has a very well known and respected name in Missoula. After several months working at Gregory’s, I then transitioned to a different path working from home for Wilson and Associates. Lorraine was a major influence in my life and really helped teach me the importance of day to day bookkeeping for clients, not just year end books for taxes. Both sides of the books are incredibly important, and working with Lorraine helped me understand the side I had less experience with. After several months working with Lorraine and the team at Wilson and Associates, I made a difficult decision to leave the remote position. This is when I started a job as an accounting assistant at Rocky Mountain. This was a completely new experience for me; working for one big company in one set of books was always something I dreamed of. RMBIO is a bio-tech company that produces a vast amount of serums, buffer solutions, and lots of other science stuff that makes sense to people much smarter than me. I was able to work with many incredible people in Montana, South Korea, and Singapore. My time at RMBIO taught me a whole bunch of new stuff including Microsoft NAV, dealing with massive inventory, creating practical accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, and working with multiple different departments. After working at RMBIO, I realized that Florida Man will always be a Florida Man meaning that Montana was much too cold for me. I am incredibly thankful and blessed to have all that time in Montana. There was a lot of life experiences in those two years that brought me to where I am today - I would not change a thing and will always be grateful to each and every person and business that helped bring me to the place that I am in today.
The main objective of Havery Services is to help clients have the most accurate bookkeeping throughout the year so they can make great financial decisions based on great books. Havery Services prepares tax returns, but loves to work with existing CPA’s for a mutual beneficial relationship.
